It’s about fears and dreams and the choice we sometimes have to make between the two. It’s about friendship and family and how powerful they are, how they can create magic sometimes. It’s about a hope that lives on forever. It’s about doors opening right when you’re about to give up on them.

Strangers in the Night is a love story but it’s also a story about life and the mysterious, magical ways it works in sometimes.

My Thoughts

Strangers in the Night by Ruhee Advani follows the story of Alisha who on a visit to London meets a stranger named Arjun and feels a strong connection with him.

The book did not start well for me. Right in the first paragraph, the male protagonist, Arjun is complaining that there are scantily dressed women in the club. He is wondering if he’s trying to find love in the wrong place when he is in fact, in a night club. He also makes a lot of presumptions

I liked Alisha more. Alisha’s feelings towards love were very cynical at first but also very relatable. The author showed how when you get your heart broken, you tend to not believe in love again. People live their lives without really living. They just stop dreaming for fear of disappointment.

It was a love-at-first-sight thing for Alisha and Arjun. They had good chemistry but we don’t see them bonding. Whenever they meet, they have a short conversation and then they kiss.

The story is cliche but in a subtle way. The author didn’t make the plot over-the-top and I appreciate that. However, as the book progressed it become less and less believable. The entire book consisted of Alisha and Arjun wondering whether they should take a chance with each other. I think that instead of that, we could’ve seen the development of their relationship.

I did enjoy this book. The writing style was very simple. This book is for the hopeless romantics.

Connect with me on Instagram | Twitter | Goodreads

Add this book on Goodreads Buy this book on Amazon Genre: Romance Source: Review Copy Format: Paperback Publisher: Notion Press Pages: 194 Publication Date: April 3rd 2018 My Rating: 3 stars

Continue reading ➞ Strangers in the Night by Ruhee Advani (Book Review)

[3
335,390,394,419
post-11984","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-book-reviews","tag-notion-press","tag-romance-book","tag-ruhee-advani","tag-strangers-in-the-night
Hi everyone!
