He was thrust into the role of a leader ever since he was a teenager. From his experience, the author tells us how a leader needs to play different roles for different situations, that is, put on different hats. The four hats are–Farmer’s Hat, Psychologist Hat, Military Drill Instructor Hat and Self-Care Hat.

Does everyone have to be a leader? That was the first question that came to my mind when I was first introduced to this book. I think everyone should know how to be a good listener, who learns from others and follows directions. But when they are required to lead, they should be able to do that just as well. Personally, I’m not yet the type of person who takes quick initiative but I know that I possess atleast some qualities of guiding and leading people. I was hoping for this book to provide me some insight about this. I wasn’t disappointed.

The book is more geared towards corporate workers and business owners than anyone else. However, anyone can benefit from the knowledge given in it no matter what you do professionally. While reading this book, I realized that even though I’m not leading a team or a part of any big project, there are smaller teams and smaller projects that I am a part of and even a leader, and I automatically started thinking how I can use these tips in those situations. I really liked the worksheet and quotes given at the end.

The author tells us the perfect balance of different qualities a leader should have. It is clear that the book is very smartly written. There is no sugarcoating. There is no confusion left as to what you should do or how you should be. Everything is very clearly explained.

The writing style is simple and engaging. The book is to-the-point and a quick read.

Connect with me on Instagram | Twitter | Goodreads

Add this book on Goodreads Buy this book on Amazon Source: Review Copy Format: Ebook Pages: 92 Genre: Non-fiction Publisher: New Insights Press Publication Date: 1 April 2019 My Rating: 4 stars

Continue reading ➞ The Four Hats of Leadership: Be Who Your People Need You To Be by Drake Taylor (Book Review)

[3
85,99,331
post-12079","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-book-reviews","tag-book-review","tag-books","tag-non-ficiton
https://travellingthroughwords.com/index.php/2018/01/05/battling-injustice-16-women-nobel-peace-laureates-by-supriya-vani-book-review/
Add this book on Goodreads Buy this book on Amazon Genre: Non-Fiction Release Date: October, 2017 Publisher: HarperCollins India Pages: 496 Format: Paperback My Rating: 5 stars If you want to read a real-life account of selflessness, bravery and most of all humanity, then read this book.
