Basically, I made a list of all the books that I wanted to read and a lot of reading tasks that i wanted to do to make myself try new authors and genres. I cut them into little slips and put them into a jar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/travellingthroughwords.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/04\/img_20160402_185403.jpg?w=425\" alt=\"IMG_20160402_185403.jpg\" width=\"342\" height=\"257\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year, I took out a slip every few weeks and read that book or completed that task and pasted the slips in my journal after completing them.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-4128\" src=\"https:\/\/travellingthroughwords.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/01\/img_20170119_0209291.jpg?w=559\" alt=\"IMG_20170119_020929.jpg\" width=\"339\" height=\"254\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here are the tasks and the books that I completed:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Read a YA contemporary book.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a YA fantasy book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book based on mythology<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a paranormal book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a thriller<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a mystery novel<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a high fantasy book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book set in India<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book by an Indian author<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a road-trip book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book set in England<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a graphic novel<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a middle-grade book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a biography<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a self-help book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a short story<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a fan-fiction book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read an anthology<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a political book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a children&#8217;s book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read an adult book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read an autobiograpgy<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a science-fiction book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a non-fiction book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book published in 2016<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read an apocalyptic or post- apocalyptic book<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book by Sarah Dessen<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book by Abbi Glines<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book by Kasie West<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read a book by Jennifer L. Armentrout<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read Percy Jackson&#8217;s Greek Gods<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read Percy Jackson&#8217;s Greek Heroes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read Amy and Roger&#8217;s Epic Detour<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read Tuesdays With Morrie<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read Confessions of Georgia Nicolson<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Read the Redhead series by Alice Clayton<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Overall, I am quite satisfied by the books I managed to read. My aim was to try new things in reading\u00a0but at the same time, I didn&#8217;t want to put any pressure on myself. This was successfully accomplished in 2016 and I&#8217;m glad about it.
