A major\u00a0part of the books I own are classics, and a huge portion of that part is unread.<\/p>\n

I say that classical literature is one my favorite genres. That is mainly because I have enjoyed almost every classic I have read so far. I love the long stories, the complex plots and the beautiful writing. However, I cant deny the fact that classics take much more time and effort to read than other books. Because of\u00a0this, I always lag behind on reading them.<\/p>\n

Today I want to share with you all some classic books that are sitting on my shelf unread.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Dracula by Bram Stoker<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

This beautiful Scholastic edition of Dracula does not deserve to stay unread on my shelf. \u00a0It is a Gothic horror novel and was published in 1897. I don’t read horror books often but I enjoy them whenever I do read them. More reason for me to pick it up soon.<\/p>\n

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

My second Jane Austen book. It took me a long time to read Pride and Prejudice and because of that, I am not in a hurry to pick this up. Still, it has been sitting on my shelf for more than 2 years and I really want to read it by the end of this year.<\/p>\n

The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

This is a book that I just bought last month. It follows the story of teenager\u00a0Holden Caulfield. Its been a while since I read a coming-of-age story so I am more likely to read this book sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

Untouchable by Mulk Raj Anand<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

I read this author’s other book Coolie<\/em> ages ago but I remember really liking it. Untouchable seems like a very enlightening and good read. It is also quite short so I’m likely to pick it up soon.<\/p>\n

The Ramayana by R.K Narayan<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The great Indian epic retold by R.K Narayana. I’m really intrigued by this book and looking forward to reading it.<\/p>\n

The Sherlock Holmes series by Arthur Conan Doyle<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

I love the fact that I own this complete series in this bind up but I would love it even more if I actually read all of it. I have read 4 out of 9 books in the Sherlock Holmes series. I’m huge fan of the detective and his partner and I really want to finish this series soon.<\/p>\n

Five plays by Shakespeare<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

These are Julius Caesar, Comedy of Errors, Two Gentlemen of Verona, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth. It is taking me ages to read The Merchant of Venice so I don’t know how long it will take me to read all of these. Still, I’m hoping to slowly make my way through these.<\/p>\n

Some re-reads<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

I have already read these but due to one reason or the other I want to read them again. Hence, I am including them in this list.<\/p>\n

Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

I read this book in 9th grade\u00a0for school and I read it the night before my test. So basically, I skimmed through a lot of it and read it really fast. I would like to read it again to actually enjoy the story this time and form an opinion on it.<\/p>\n

Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Gone with the Wind\u00a0is one of the best stories I have ever read. I read it years ago and fell in love with it instantly. Its a huge book but I still want to re-read it atleast once.<\/p>\n

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

This book is one of my favorite classics. I have already read it twice but it was a long time ago and I have the urge to read it again.<\/p>\n

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Another classic story I love. I think I read this book about 4 years ago. Since then I haven’t completely read it again nor have I watched any\u00a0adaptations of it. I want to do both very soon.<\/p>\n
