May 2018 Wrap-Up

Books I Read This Month.png

Hey everyone! How are you all?

So the reason I haven’t posted my May wrap-up yet is that I read very less books in May and I thought I would just include those books in my June wrap-up. As it happened I’ve been reading a lot in June and if i did a collective wrap-up, the post would be too long.

Let’s get started.

Books I Read

1. The First Word by Husain Ali

The First Word

The First Word by Husain Ali is a collection of poems about love, loss, friendship, the destruction in the world and many other aspects of life.

These were not some of the best poems but they simple and powerful. Many of them were written with deep emotion. I highly enjoyed this collection.

My Rating- 3.5 stars

2. Sheets by Brenna Thumler

Sheets

It has been a long time since I read a graphic novel and after reading this I am reminded again of what’s so amazing about them.

Sheets is a sweet and emotional story. It is about Marjorie who has a crappy school and home life. Her mother passed away and she has to take care of the family laundromat herself. It always astonishes me how graphic novels are able to convey such strong emotions with just a few words and of course some beautiful artwork. I loved the concept of ghosts as sheets and how it was done.

The story is sad but really heartwarming.

My Rating- 4 stars

3. My Allahabad Story by Himendra Nath Varma

TV Shows

I finally started watching Gilmore Girls in May and I just finished the revival! I’ll admit that the only reason I got curious about the show was because of Jared Padalecki. Even though his character was not that great, I’m glad I watched this show. I loved Lorelai and I loved her relationship with Rory. However, as the the show progresses, Rory became more and more terrible and I was getting so frustrated over Lorelai and Luke not getting together (My favorite ship from the show btw), Out of the boyfriends, I undoutably loved Jess. I’m not sure how I feel about the revival though.

Music

Still obsessing over Glee covers mostly.
