Hi everyone! Hope your week went well 🙂
So three things happened this week.
1. I got one step closer to completing my Harry Potter collection
I have read the whole series 4 times but I don’t own all the books. This year, I have slowly starting collecting them. I bought the 2nd and 3rd book this week anf I only have to get the 5th and 6th book now.
I also immediately started reading the second book.
2. I re-read Pride and Prejudice
I read Pride and Prejudice when I was 11 and since then, I have attempted to re-read it a few times but I always left it after a few chapters. I didn’t remember much of the book and I really wanted to enjoy it and form an opinion on it. I like the story but the language and dialogue are really dense. However, this year, with some motivation and by listening a part of the book on audio,  i was able to finally finish it! It did take me 2 whole months though 😀
My final thoughts on this book-
I really love the story. Not only in the book, but I absolutely loved the 2005 movie and the web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.
This is not the best book I have ever read and its not my favorite book but it is certainly very enjoyable. I’m glad I re-read this book and now I can just keep it aside.
3. I decided to get back into poetry
I’ve always been into poetry. I enjoy reading it and have also wrote quite a few over the years. However, in all the craze of reading novels, I always neglect poems. This week I went shopping and bought Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. I don’t really know what to say about it but I did write a short Goodreads review to jot down my feelings. You can check it out here.
I read it very quickly and I wanted more and so I have decided to make an effort to read more poetry collections.
What are your favorite poetry collections or poems? Please do recommend me some. Also, have any of you read Palgrave’s Golden Treasury? How is it?
What were your bookish discoveries this week?
I really need to get a move on with Harry Potter. I’ve been meaning to read it for ages, but it’s just not happening. Loved the films, started the first book but a new book in another series I loved came out at the time and I stopped lol. Someday.. someday.
Poetry isn’t typically an area you think about much! I totally get that. But it really is amazing how much can be packed into such short or concise lines. And the lyrical rhythms are lovely. <3
Have you read anything from Edgar Allan Poe? If you like darker, 18th/19th century-style stuff, I think he's fantastic. I recommend "The Raven," "Annabel Lee," and also his short story titled "The Tell-Tale Heart."
..Also Percy Bysshe Shelley's "Ode to the West Wind" is great. 😀

I have read Six Creepy Tales by Edgar Allan Poe which included The Raven and The Tell-Tale Heart and were they amazingly creepy! I’ll definitely read Annabel Lee.
I have read one poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley but not Ode to the West Wind. Will read it!
And yes, it amazes me how much depth is there in just a few lines
