Used Books Haul- Indian Books, Harry Potter and a re-read (April 2017)

Hi everyone! How are you all doing? In the beginning of this month, I went shopping and I came across a bookshop that had a lot of used novels in it and was selling them at a reasonable price. I got 6 books from there which is the largest number of books I’ve ever bought together.

These books are not in the best condition and some even have things written on them but I am overall glad that I bought these 🙂 So allow me to share these with you.

The Company of Women by Khushwant Singh

I’ve been wanting to read a book by Khuashwant Singh ever since I read his short story The Portrait of a Lady and I was really glad to find this. I am a little skeptical because the plot is very different than anything I’ve read before. Still, I’m excited to see how this book goes for me.

The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

This is one of the most highly acclaimed books of Indian Literature and I’m so glad I was able to get this book so cheap.  The cover is quite faded but the rest of the book is in tolerable condition. Arundhati Roy seems like a must read author and I have really high expectations from this book. It follows the struggles of fraternal twins Esthappen and Rahel in 1969, Kerala.

Sea of Poppies (Ibis Trilogy #1) by Amitav Ghosh

Another Indian author whose books I’ve really wanted to read. I had no idea it is a trilogy though.

And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

Khaled Hosseini is one of my favorite authors. I have read all of this 3 published books including this one. I read this years ago and I didn’t own a copy of it but now I have the perfect opportunity to re-read it.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire & Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K Rowling

I have been slowly collecting the Harry Potter books. Last month I got Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and this month I got these two. There are only 4 more books to go and I’m so excited to finally own my copies of this series 😀
