Once in a while, we find a story that is refreshing and different. It’s rare that books like these come up nowaday and when they do, it’s like finding treasure. Today’s post is all about some of the most unique books I have read recently read.
1. Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith
It’s really hard to describe this book. It was weird. It was gross. But it was also awesome and wonderful.
2. Coraline by Neil Gaiman
The plot of this book was nothing like I’ve read before. This is a very creepy children’s book and it is very well written feels very real.
3. Mudmen – The Quest For Humanity by Shitij Sharma
This book is an excellent take on the question, “What happens when the world ends?” It is a very short read but extremely intriguing. I will be posting a review of it soon.
4. The Reflections of Queen Snow White by David Meredith
This book was a huge surprise for me. I didn’t expect the plot to be so unique and refreshing. The writing is beautiful in this book and it is very easy to get through. I have also done a full review of it here.
5. Constant Guests by Partricia Nedelea
This book is an amazing mixture of Historical Fiction and Magic. It has a lot of story lines and has so much depth that if there’s one book I would call completely unique, it’s this one. I have also done a full review of it here.

Is Coroline the same as the animated film because if so I need to read that book!
Yes, it is! The movie is good but the book is amazing, especially the audiobook.
I love Gaiman and think he’s really unique- though I haven’t read coraline yet- I certainly plan to!! All the books on here sound so intriguing!!
I think he’s unique too! I really need to read more of his books
I hope you enjoy them!
Loved Coraline! Gaiman’s use of language in that book is perfection.
Yes, the writing is amazing
I am so happy to see this comment thread because it is about one of my favourite books – Coraline. I agree it’s an amazing book. You should also read Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book” – another fantasy book similar to “The Jungle Book”. I’m sure you’ll love it.
I’ve been meaning to read more of his books. Will do that soon 😀
