September 2017 Wrap-Up

Hi everyone! How are you all?

September was a very different month for me. I recovered from my toe injury for the most part and probably gained a lot of weight by sitting all day. Since I had a lot of time on my hands, I hoped that I would be able to read a lot of books but that didn’t quite happen. I only managed to finish four books but I will give myself some credit since one of them was 630 pages long and I did start a few more books.

Anyways, let’s get started 🙂

Books I Read

1. Untouchable by Mulk Raj Anand

Untouchable

Goodreads

Amazon

My rating- 5 stars

This is one of the best books by an Indian author that I have ever read. I have read very few books that are so wonderfully written as this one. I loved the author’s motive behind the book. He showed us a day in the life of an untouchable and completely took us to that time. We see the various emotions that Bakha feels and sympathize with him. I also liked how the book ended on a hopeful note. This book is quite short but you need to slowly read it to completely experience it. I have also read Coolie by Mulk Raj Anand but it was years ago and I barely remember it. I’ll try to re-read it sometime in the future.

2. Unlawful Justice by Vish Dhamija

Goodreads

Amazon

My Rating- 4.5 stars

This book was an awesome read. I feel like I should read at least 1 or 2 thrillers every month because they are just that good. This book is a legal thriller and it was my first read by Vish Dhamija.

Read my full review of this book here.

3. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons

The Bronze Horseman (The Bronze Horseman, #1)

Goodreads

Amazon

My rating- 2 stars

I don’t even want to talk about this book anymore so I’ll keep it brief. I enjoyed the historical aspect but I did not like the relationship between the two main characters. It was not the kind of love story I enjoy. This book was way too long and it was not worth it to keep reading it till the end.

You can read my full thoughts on this book here. (Contains spoilers)

4. The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank (Re-read)

The Diary of a Young Girl

Goodreads

Amazon

My Rating- 5 stars

Anne Frank’s diary is one of my favorite books of all time and I read it for the third time this month. As always, it made me both sad and happy. This is a book that I recommend everyone to read.

Tv Shows Watched

In terms of tv shows, this month was pretty great. I started watching the UK based show Skins and finished 4 seasons. I loved the first two seasons and the set of characters that it had. I also loved the third season and I thought that this installment would be even better than the previous seasons. But my hopes were crushed when season 4 turned out to be a disaster. I hated its ending and I cannot believe how silly it was. I’m currently on the fifth season and I’m hoping it is good.

I’ve been binge-watching Parks and Recreation for the past few days and I can’t believe I was skeptical to actually start it. I love Leslie and she’s really inspiring. The show is very refreshing with awesome characters. Also, Ben is the perfect guy for me.

I have no clue what I listened to this month so I’m going to skip that section for this month.
