April 2018 Wrap-Up

Books I Read This Month.png

Hi everyone! How are you all doing?

April was a strange month for me. Both in life and in reading, I was just trying to figure things out. I managed to read six books and I am happy to say I enjoyed most of them.

Books I Read

1. Black Suits You by Navoneel Chakraborty

Navoneel Chakraborty is a popular Indian author of romantic thrillers. This was my first read by him. I didn’t enjoy the first half of the book at all, mostly because of the terrible characters but the suspense kept me going, The last 100 pages were the best part for me. There were a lot of surprises that I didn’t see coming. This book is definitely a better thriller than an erotica.

Also, special thanks to my awesome friend Kajal from A girl’s verdict on books for gifting me this book. Do check out her blog!

My Rating- 3 stars

2. Soul Of A Wanderer by Jayasekaran Pillai

This is a collection of short stories containing the author’s experiences in various parts of India. This was a really nice and short rainy-day read. The stories were simple and heartwarming and they all taught a valuable lesson. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

My Rating- 4 stars

3. A Game Of Thrones by George R.R Martin

To be honest, I’m not sure how to describe my feelings for this book. I absolutely loved the TV shows and expected the same from the book. However, because I already knew everything that went down in this book, the element of surprise wasn’t there. I did enjoy reading it and I will probably continue with the series.

My Rating- 4 stars

4. Demons In My Mind by Aashish Gupta

A psychological thriller that I absolutely loved. Check out my full review here.

My Rating- 5 stars

5. Pralay by Vineet Bajpai

This month has been all about Glee. .I absolutely loved the first three seasons. I really understand what the hype is all about, This show really tried to address some real issues and it did a good job at it. The music is amazing and this show so badly makes me want to sing and dance and watch musicals which I never have. The characters are so cool. I’m kinda obsessed with Rachel and Klaine and Will. I’m just about to watch the last few episodes and even the show has been going downhill since season 4, I really loved it.

  1. Looks like you had a pretty successful month. I agree that Glee had focus and good intentions for the first three seasons. After that, I don’t even know where the story went.

  2. I attempted to start Game of Thrones a long time ago but didn’t get very far into it. I still plan to give it another go but currently it’s sitting on my shelf. Glad you enjoyed it, even though the surprise was taken out of it.
