Hi everyone! How are you all doing?
April was a strange month for me. Both in life and in reading, I was just trying to figure things out. I managed to read six books and I am happy to say I enjoyed most of them.
Books I Read
1. Black Suits You by Navoneel Chakraborty
Navoneel Chakraborty is a popular Indian author of romantic thrillers. This was my first read by him. I didn’t enjoy the first half of the book at all, mostly because of the terrible characters but the suspense kept me going, The last 100 pages were the best part for me. There were a lot of surprises that I didn’t see coming. This book is definitely a better thriller than an erotica.
Also, special thanks to my awesome friend Kajal from A girl’s verdict on books for gifting me this book. Do check out her blog!
My Rating- 3 stars
2. Soul Of A Wanderer by Jayasekaran Pillai
This is a collection of short stories containing the author’s experiences in various parts of India. This was a really nice and short rainy-day read. The stories were simple and heartwarming and they all taught a valuable lesson. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.
My Rating- 4 stars
3. A Game Of Thrones by George R.R Martin
To be honest, I’m not sure how to describe my feelings for this book. I absolutely loved the TV shows and expected the same from the book. However, because I already knew everything that went down in this book, the element of surprise wasn’t there. I did enjoy reading it and I will probably continue with the series.
My Rating- 4 stars
4. Demons In My Mind by Aashish Gupta
A psychological thriller that I absolutely loved. Check out my full review here.
My Rating- 5 stars
5. Pralay by Vineet Bajpai
This book is the sequel to Harappa, a mythological fantasy series. Read my full review here.
My Rating- 4 stars
6. The Aryabhatta Clan by Sudipto Das
This book is a little hard to describe as it covers a lot of topics. So check out my full review here to know more.
My Rating- 4 stars
TV Shows
This month has been all about Glee. .I absolutely loved the first three seasons. I really understand what the hype is all about, This show really tried to address some real issues and it did a good job at it. The music is amazing and this show so badly makes me want to sing and dance and watch musicals which I never have. The characters are so cool. I’m kinda obsessed with Rachel and Klaine and Will. I’m just about to watch the last few episodes and even the show has been going downhill since season 4, I really loved it.
Music
Never Be The Same by Camilla Cabello
Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande
Glee covers- Don’t Stop Believing (Rachel’s cover), Maybe This Time, Don’t Rain On My Parade

Looks like you had a pretty successful month. I agree that Glee had focus and good intentions for the first three seasons. After that, I don’t even know where the story went.
Exactly. The story got so messy
Agreed about Glee, I just watched the rest for the mash-ups. I loved them..haha!
haha there were really were some great mash-ups
I have yet to watch Glee. Looks like you had a good month.
You should. I did 🙂
Sounds like a busy month! I enjoyed watching Glee and I was so sad when the show ended.
I feel that way too since I finished watching it 🙂
All new to me, except for Glee 😉
Sounds like you had a great April! I used to be obsessed with Glee! I definitely agree that the quality fell off after season 3 though.
Agree. I mean I definitely wanted to see the story progress after season 3 but I just wish it was done in a better way.
Wow! You were busy in April. Great post!
Thank you!
Looks like you’ve had a productive month! Apparently, I need to watch the first three seasons of Glee now!
I did. Yes please do! I swear you’ll have so much fun.
Sounds like you had a busy month! Lots of books I hadn’t heard of before.
I did! Hope you found some recommendations 🙂
Great wrap-up. I’ve not read any of them
Thank you !
Your issue with GOT was my issue, too. I think the TV series is one of the rare instances where the “movie” is better than the book. Plus, Martin is taking forever with the next book anyways.
I think that may be true. The books are good but the show is something else.
Great wrap-up looks like you had a great reading month in April. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.
I did, thanks!
I attempted to start Game of Thrones a long time ago but didn’t get very far into it. I still plan to give it another go but currently it’s sitting on my shelf. Glad you enjoyed it, even though the surprise was taken out of it.
I hope you enjoy is sometime. The show is a must-watch though.
I started the first episode or two with my husband but never went any further. I still intend to give it another shot lol 🙂
