I don’t care if they don’t remember my name – NaPoWriMo 6

You’ll see my face
Probably not on a billboard
But at the back of a paperback
Held in the hands of
Paupars and peers.

You’ll see my name
Probably not in headlines
But in front of six-figures
Encompassing a life well-lived
My name not in vain.

I don’t care
If they don’t remember my name
As long as what I leave behind
Puts superficiality to shame.

I don’t care
If they don’t fawn over my face
As long as it’s remembered
By the ones who stayed.
