I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Angel in the Shadows is a dark romance book by Amy Deason. It follows the story of Madison  who is a simple photographer when she meets Seth Reynolds at a charity event. Her life is turned upside down and she faces one danger after another.

When I started this book, I honestly had no idea what it was about. I had read the blurb before but had completely forgotten it by the time I started this book. The first thing I noticed was the amazing writing of the author. It flowed very smoothly and I was flying through the pages. The plot starts very interestingly and the book is intense right from the start.

Seth is one of the main characters of the book. He is ordered to kill Madison but he just cannot bring himself to do it. At first, we see him as the bad guy in the book but come to knows later on that he’s actually not.He saves Madison again and again and finds himself having feelings for her.

Madison is a very brave character. She is constantly in danger but manages to not fall apart. She is just in the wrong place at the wrong time and suffers a lot throughout the book. The chemistry between the two characters is very intense.

The plot kept me interested all the way and I wanted to know how it would end for the characters. However, romance books like this are not my thing anymore. I think I would’ve liked this book more if the romance wasn’t such a huge part of it. I also didn’t like the way Seth treated Madison sometimes.

This is a good debut by the author. I read it in just two sittings. The fluid way in which it was written was the best thing for me. It is quite graphic and does have a lot of sexual content. The story is conducted in a span of just few days so it is very fast paced. I recommend it to romance fans who are looking for a dark story.
