Down The TBR Hole #3| Sorting Through Goodreads TBR Shelf

I may be a little bit of Monica. Cleaning and de-cluttering is just fun, okay?

Down The TBR Hole was created by Lost in a Story!

The Rules:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

1. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger

The Catcher in the Rye

I have seen an almost equal amount of people loving and hating this book. I do own a copy of it so I plan on reading it.

Verdict: Keep

2. Anne Of Green Gables by L.M Montgomery

Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1)

Well, it’s a classic and I almost never say no to a classic even if it takes me a million years to get to it.

Verdict: Keep

3. Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1)

This is a YA Paranormal book with witches and vampires or something. This book has some good reviews so I’m tempted to keep it but I hardly read anything from this genre anymore. It could be fun but there’s a high chance I’ll never read this.

Verdict: Delete

4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1)

This book sounds way too interesting and has too many good reviews to delete. Its possible I won’t like it and will not get to it anytime soon but I’d still like to keep it.

Verdict: Keep

5. Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux, #1)

I tried reading this book a while back and just thinking about it makes me feel annoyed now. Nothing was happening, the protagonist seemed like an idiot and the male character was a jerk.

Verdict: Delete

6. Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky #1) by Veronica Rossi

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1)

A YA Dystopian Romance book, The reason I want to keep this book is that the plot sounds actually simple and it has good reviews.

Verdict: Keep

 7. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #1)
by Michelle Hodkin

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1)

These decisions are getting harder and harder to make. This book has highly mixed reviews. I’m gonna keep it for now.

Verdict: Keep

 8. Unearthly (Unearthly #1) by Cynthia Hand (Goodreads Author)

Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)

Another YA fantasy book but this one has a plot that I couldn’t give less of a crap about.

Verdict: Delete

9. Wonder (Wonder #1) by R.J. Palacio

Wonder

I really want to read this book so I’m obviously keeping it.

Verdict: Keep

10. Seraphina (Seraphina #1) by Rachel Hartman

Seraphina (Seraphina, #1)

This book seems like a more mature fantasy read and since it has dragons, I can’t pass it up.

Verdict: Keep

Final Verdict: Deleted 3 out of 10 books

  1. I’m a slacker, I’ve only read Catcher in the Rye, 35 years ago… But I still remember it – awesome

  2. I have read The catcher in the rye and wonder out of these.

Catcher in the rye has mixed feelings from me too but I liked it overall.

About wonder, just one thing go read that now. It’s one of the best books I’ve ever ever read.

  3. The Catcher in the Rye is one that splits the readers into two camps, and only two camps: love or hate, and it’s not even an exaggeration. Glad to hear you’ll be keeping it and hope you’ll enjoy the ride. 😀
