National Poetry Writing Month

I start the month of poetry – #NaPoWriMo 1

I start the month of poetry
The month of writing moments in time
With a heart hall full
And strength half empty.

I start the month of poetry
With well-wishes to my peers
With silent envy in my veins
And reluctant effort
To ignite this neglected part of me again.

I start the month of poetry
Hesitantly
Holding ten pieces of my life in ten fingers
Resigned to a few crashing
Or losing on the ones
I am too weak to balance.

I start the month of poetry
I clutch my pen with anger
I let it go with fatigue
I set out to once again
Put the fragments of my being
On paper
For me and for anyone who’ll read.
