Top 5 Wednesday #5: Unlikable Characters

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Lainey from Ginger Reads Lainey and is now hosted by Samantha from Thoughts on Tomes. You can also check out the Goodreads group.

Hey guys! I know I’m very late in uploading this post but my laptop isn’t working and i didn’t want to leave this topic as I had written it beforehand.

So the topic was “Most Unlikable Characters” (These should lean more towards characters who aren’t intentionally unlikable. Not villains, or mean girl/guys, etc.)

This was a difficult list to make. Apparently, besides from the obvious villians, there aren’t many characters I find unlikable. Still, I was able to come up with three.

1.Cho Chang – Harry Potter series

(Mild spoilers for the Harry Potter series)

Maybe its because I really ship Harry and Ginny together, but I never liked Cho. I don’t even like reading the part in the books where Harry really likes her. I always thought she wasn’t right for him and wanted him to quickly get over her.

2.Gale-The Hunger Games

Same reason as before. I never rooted for Gale and Katnis and I always liked Peeta better. The connection he and Katnis had was special.

3.Peter-To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and P.S I Still Love You by Jenny Han

Peter simply annoyed me. I didn’t like the way he sometimes treated Lara Jean and I couldn’t understand her feelings for him. The ending to P.S I Still Love You made me angry and completely unsatisfied with the story.

Hope you liked this post! Let me know your thoughts below.

  1. Hahaha I love Gale with Katniss! I personally thought he had a more substantial, meaningful relationship with Katniss, and Peeta was just kind of popped out of nowhere. But I’m a minority so….

I do agree with you on Cho, though. She’s so annoying.

  2. I completely agree on both Cho Change and Gale. While I don’t remember too much about Cho, aside from not liking her that much, I definitely didn’t like Gale nearly as much as Peeta. While he was a good friend for Katniss until the last book, there just wasn’t as much of a love connection like there was with Peeta.
