Such is her life by Reecha Agarwal Goyal is a collection of musings on being a girl in this world. Every page has a few powerful lines aiming to convey their sentiments. How the struggle of a girl begins even before she is born. The book tells some very vivid and heartbreaking truths of being a girl child. Her struggles and the atrocities that are done to her. The subjects touched upon include female foeticide, sexual and domestic abuse, slut-shaming, sexism, and our society’s obsession with having only a boy child. The author doesn’t hold back and tells the truth of the situations girls are submitted to.
I loved the format of the book and the way it was illustrated. To be honest, I’m not a fan of this style of writing a book but I do appreciate the conveyance of powerful emotions through a few lines. I also admire the boldness of the author in her writing.
There were lines in this book that I loved and there were lines that I found very simple in comparison.
I would definitely recommend this book. It can be read in one sitting. It makes you think and reflect on some of the injustices of this world. I hope more people read books like this and change their mindsets regarding women.

Interesting! The kind of conceptual format isn’t usually what I’d read either but the topics are really intriguing. Great review!
