  1. I’ve wanted to read The Alchemist and The Kite Runner for a long time now. Great list! I wonder why I have never thought of including Sherlock Holmes on my list!

  2. I do not live in the US either! Which is precisely why I thought there’s a big loophole in this week’s theme, isn’t it? We could just put 10 books written by our local authors 😛 but nope, we probably shouldn’t. I like The Kite Runner but haven’t had the chance to read the other books by the same author. Are they great??

    1. Oh yes, they’re fantastic – A Thousand Splendid Suns and And The Mountains Echoed. You should definitely try them! The Kite Runner is still my favorite though. Anyways, thanks for commenting 🙂

  3. The Confessions of Georgia Nicholson books and the Girls series make me think of my pre-teen years, I loved those books. I definitely need to try one of Khaled Hosseini’s books, everyone raves about them but they haven’t really pinged on my radar.
    My TTT.

  4. Love your list! I haven’t read many books from India, Afghanistan, or Egypt, and I really should do something about that.

  5. I love to read books set in foreign countries, and I particularly like books set in India, such at Shanataram and A Fine Balance. Also, I think The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns are amazing.

  6. Great list! I remember reading The Kite Runner and thinking it was amazing. I’m not sure I’ve read And the Mountains Echoed yet, but I’m sure it’s in my TBR pile somewhere, so thanks for reminding me of the book, I really must get around to reading it 🙂

  7. This is a great list – Anne Frank – such a deeply sad story. And, A Thousand Splendid Suns – absolutely brilliant – very sad, but brilliant.
    Lynn 😀

  8. I’ve always been fascinated by Anne Frank and her story, but I don’t think I’ve ever read a book about her. Perhaps someday (*adds to that ever-growing TBR*). Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland.

  9. I haven’t read anything from your list, but I’m super excited for The Diary of a Young Girl and the Sherlock Holmes s. – actually, I’m really ashamed I haven’t read these two so far.
    Wonderful list!! 😀
