Book Beginnings and The Friday 56 #2: Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

Hi guys! Today, I’m gonna do a combined post for both of these memes. I had the whole day to do these but as it often happens during vacations, I didn’t know that it was Friday!

Anyways, the book I’ve chosen for this week is:

Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

This book has great reviews and i finally decided to read it. I’m about 30% through and really enjoying it so far.

The Friday 56: Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes by Rick Riordan

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. To participate, you just have to grab a book, turn to page 56 or 56% in your e-reader and post a sentence or a few from it.

The book I’ve chosen for this week is:

Friday Book Beginnings: The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

Book Beginnings is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Rose City Reader. To participate, you have to post the first sentence of the book you are reading and write your thoughts about it.

I just found this weekly meme and it seems pretty fun. I’ll be participating in this as much as i can in the upcoming weeks.

My Reading More Diversely Jar / My Ultimate TBR Jar

For the last couple of  years it has been quite a trend to make TBR (to-be-read) lists and jars in the book community. I had a list for 2015 and was successful in completing most of them. However, this year i didn’t want to put pressure on myself and just wanted to take my time with the books i read. I wanted to discover stories that stayed with me and made me glad that i read them. But underneathall that there was still this huge list of books that i had always wanted to read. There were series i wanted to start and series i needed to complete. There were genres that i had not read anything from and wanted to try them.

So from all this came my ultimate tbr jar.

My 2015 Reading Review

2015 was a pretty good reading year for me. I read 145 books (I know! Amazing, right?) which were mostly contemporaries. Other than that, I read quite a lot of series- 4 of them Fantasy, few Children and Non-Fiction books and 8 Classics.

I discovered many great authors and i hope to do more of that this year. I also read 5 poems. All of them were for school but i really enjoyed them.

Overall, it was a very satisfactory year. Here are 5 books and series that i loved the most in this year.
