Even though I only read 74 books in 2016 in caparison to 145 books in 2015, it was still a pretty good reading year. I tried some great new authors and read many good books. Besides this, the highlight of 2016 for me is this blog. I started Travelling Through Words and worked on it. I designed my own banner. I posted book reviews and a lot of other posts. I made connections with other bloggers, bookstagrammers and authors. For me, these are the best accomplishments I made this year.
I also completed my 1 year blogging anniversary this month. With this, I want to give a huge thank you to all the people who read my posts, followed my blog, commented on it, liked it and just everyone who supported me. THANK YOU SO MUCH <3
All this said, lets get started with my 2016 reading journey!
Genre: Crime Thriller
My Rating: 4 stars
“Do the actions of our father’s decide who we are or do they decide what we become? Did we choose this, brought this upon ourselves? We must have been fools to listen to them, to trust their promises and believe their lies and if it were to happen all over again we would still make all the same mistakes. Do you know why? Because we are still fools groping in the dark, looking for any sort of guidance that can be provided.”
The Girl from Rostov is a stand-alone thriller by Shitij Sharma. It follows Majid and his niece Maya as they both battle the ghosts of their past. Their journey takes them to unexpected places and places them with unexpected situations. The book is about a family that is laden with tragedy. It is a mixture of love, loss, family, crime and grief.
I was surprised when I started this book. It was captivating right from

Boy Meets Boy is the first book I’ve read by David Levithan. It follows the story of Paul, a cheerful high school student when he meets Noah. I discovered this book when I came across its audiobook and decided to give it a try.
The first thing I would like to say is that I am very, very glad I read this book 😀
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal, Fantasy
My Rating: 4 stars
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Tompkin’s School: For The Extraordinarily Talented by Tabi Slick is a thrilling YA paranormal book. It follows the story of Izara Torvik when she moves to a boarding school in Oklahoma with her twin brother Kain. They soon discover that there is something sinister about the school and find something weird happening to them in the midst of it.
The book starts a bit slow but soon becomes very intriguing and mysterious. The writing is simple and good. I liked that the book was organized and well paced.

Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour is a heartwarming YA, stand-alone book by Morgan Matson. Amy is dealing with her father’s death and Roger has problems of his own. The book follows them on a road trip to Connecticut.
This is the first time I read a road-trip book and it was this aspect that drew me to this it.
Hello readers! I present to you some more of my favorite quotes 😀
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth Harry Potter book. I think we can all agree that it is one of the saddest books in the series. Still, its one of my favorites and has some amazing quotes.
Hello fellow bloggers
How are you all?
So I have posted twice in the last two months. It was mainly because I had exams in September and then my laptop stopped working. Its still not repaired and I am currently writing from a borrowed one. Nevertheless, I’m ready to get back into blogging. I’m still trying to figure out how to balance writing, reading, school and studies but I’m gonna try my best.
I’m currently re-reading A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I’m also listening to Egg and Spoon by Gregory Maguire. I have about 3 hours left of it and I am so ready to finish it.
Also, the realization that there are only 2 months left of this year and our TBRs still haven’t shrunken have made us all make an End Of The Year TBR. Here’s mine:
It happens to the best of us.
One moment, we’re going along our merry way, brainstorming and inventing for books, works, projects, and the like.
And then we hit the wall.

You know that wonderful feeling when you’ve found an amazing new series and you just know that you’re gonna spend a lot of time reading and thinking about it?
That’s what I’m feeling right now.

Hey guys! I know I’m very late in uploading this post but my laptop isn’t working and i didn’t want to leave this topic as I had written it beforehand.
So the topic was “Most Unlikable Characters” (These should lean more towards characters who aren’t intentionally unlikable. Not villains, or mean girl/guys, etc.)
